Hi, I'm Brooklyn, but friends call me Brooke or Brookie! I'm the gal behind all things Daydream Abode & I'm so grateful you're here. I'm born & raised in Iowa and married to my high school sweetheart, Sean. We live in a 1930's farmhouse & are busy raising our sweet baby girl, Maggie, and a bunch of farm cats!
When I was little, my sister & I would gather up items around the house and create our own little store. We'd take turns shopping & checking out with our monopoly money, just to set everything back up and do it all again.
All these years later, here I am with my very own store full of cozy apparel & curated home goods.. Daydream Abode is nothing short of a dream come true for me!
the story behind daydream abode
Daydream Abode was built on a dream.. one that started long before this little barn was ever ours.
From the very beginning, I wanted a name that captured what this brand & our products were meant to be.. something warm, meaningful, and rooted in home. I chose the word abode because it means home. And that has always been at the heart of everything I love — helping turn houses into homes filled with warmth, comfort, and meaning. I’ve always believed your home should feel like your daydream.. a space that reflects your story, holds your memories, and surrounds you with pieces that make life feel cozy & beautiful.
But over time, I discovered something even more special. Abode can also mean to wait. And that meaning settled deep into my heart.
There was a season in my life filled with waiting. A long, difficult journey through infertility that tested our faith, patience, and hope. It was one of the hardest seasons I’ve walked through, yet one that shaped me in ways I’ll forever be grateful for. Because in the waiting & unknown, I learned that we can still dream.. still create beauty.. still make magic in the life we’re living right now.
Today, I get to run around the yard with our miracle baby girl, Maggie, my greatest daydream come true. And I carry deep gratitude for every peak and pit that led us here.
The Barn at Daydream Abode is also the fulfillment of another childhood dream. As a little girl, I used to shop in this very barn, telling my family that one day I hoped to have a place just like it.. a cozy shop filled with treasures & heart. A place that felt like home. A place where people didn’t just shop, but FELT something — nostalgia, warmth, inspiration.
Now, that dream lives here.
