What makes Young Living different from other essential oil companies or oils sold at health food/grocery stores?
The quality of your essential oils MATTERS! You are putting them on your skin, breathing them in, using them to clean your home, etc.. Did you know that companies are only required to put 5% of the actual essential oil in a bottle and can still label it 100% pure? FIVE PERCENT.
Young Living has a Seed to Seal quality commitment -- from the moment they plant the seed to when the bottle is sealed, the oils aren't compromised or manipulated. They are the only essential oil company that owns their own farms. No other essential oil company owns farms or distilleries. None!
We've visited their Mona, Utah farm several times now and continue to be amazed by not only the farm, but the farm managers, distilleries, labs, testing practices, and company as a whole.

Are essential oils safe for kids?
As the parent, it's your decision as to what you feel comfortable using on your children! Snag this book to learn more about using essential oils with kiddos: Gentle Babies by Debra Raybern
Always dilute when applying oils on littles & we typically recommend applying oils to the feet to start. Here's a quick dilution chart for kids:
- Newborn - 6 Months: 1 drop essential oil to 30 drops carrier oil
- 6 Months - 2 Years: 1 drop essential oil to 8-10 drops of carrier oil
- 2-6 Years: 1 drop essential oil to 2-4 drops carrier oil
- 6-11 Years: 1 drop essential oil to 1 drop carrier oil
- 11+ Years: Use as directed on label
Are essential oils safe for pets?
This is a great question and something I was worried about too when I first started my oily journey – we have 2 kitties at home!
But after lots of research, we feel completely comfortable diffusing all Young Living essential oils around our pets. We make sure to keep all the doors open so if they ever don’t like the smell, they can just leave the room. A lot of the scary stories you hear online are when pet owners use synthetic or low quality essential oils on or internally with their pets. We only trust Young Living oils because of their Seed to Seal promise.
We would never use oils internally or directly on our pets without consulting a vet or doing lots of research first. As a fur parent, I urge you to do your own research and do whatever feels most comfortable + safe for you and your pet(s)!
